But the old 1150 is rather good Isn't it. Been out on mine today and road some fair old twisty A &B roads, all abit bumpy and choppy. Wow the old girl just floats over them. I was just thinking while I was tooling around that if I was on my old fireblade or one of the other fine sportsbikes I'd owned I'd have been so focused on avoiding the pot holes and loose gravel I'd not have enjoyed the ride as much. The ease at which you can get a GS to flick over on her side and then pick up out of a corner is simply amazing:bow sorry for my ramble but I'd forgotten how good GS's really were:D
 
Paul (BHT) & I had a nice little run like that on bank hol Monday & my 1150 gave a decent account of itself... I never get tired of that - glad to hear that you're enjoying it, too :thumb
 
Today after my little ride

I added a few little things just to personalise her abit more. I've fitted an ADV beak and a rear brake guard and one of those bash plates that fit to the centre stand oh and a big foot thingy on the side stand. Now along with the silly LED lazer spotlights and the wide foot pegs and higher firmer seat she about perfect:thumb2 I guess the only other thing I'd fancy is a nice set of zega panniers or a set like the ones fitted to the 1200ADV. But that will have to wait:D

Lately the majority of use on mine is quick local dash'es into the next town.

as Im treating it like a scooter I've bought a scooter helmet, grab the helmet jump on wearing what ever I'm wearing bit of wheel spin up the gravel drive, some flip flop turns on the roads the cross the common up to 80 for the sweepers then some of those right and left junction turns around the houses that the 1150 just drops into and pulls out off in it's very special way, a run on the wrong side to pass the town centre que and then attempt 'a sort off' stunt rider quick stop & dismount by the clock tower - The dismount and go is nothing like a stunt rider but, it's quick'ish :-)

....Do my chores then repeat in reverse.

Brilliant bike which has a character that special on trip like this as well as the longer blasts, and I have to recomend a scooter helmet for local dashes, light loads of visability and I feel more in touch with what's going on - Mines a Copter
 
Yep as above, still love my old 1150 and can’t think of anything that I’d replace it with apart from maybe an HP2E/MM. Lots of character – i.e. it weighs about 10 tonnes and breaks down on a regular basis, but such a great bike when it’s running well. I wouldn’t be without it. Enjoy yours:)

My old girl is currently racking up 850 miles a week and is getting better by the week. As has been said above, a cracking bike.
 
and by the time you've ditched the servo abs (if you ever had it), removed the can and sub'd a stubby and ditched the silly floppy mudguard thing that attaches to the fd it only weighs about the same as a WC, maybe 5kgs heavier.

I haven't heard much talk about the lardy new bogger for some reason.
