Good start

So plan is generally to Alps for a bit staying at my usual haunt Livigno
Bormio on way there

Then a couple of days around the usual passes in that area, weather and roads amazing

Even ran into a Kamov helicopter doing logging, a seriously dull use of an aircraft

So after two days blatting around the Alpine Passes its time to head south towards the Italian Lakes. Rough camping order of day, the gap here fits a GSA perfectly into the woods near Lake Garda

This si not a sliced banana, oh no this is a Lake Garda sliced banana, hence 11 euros, yep eleven !!

Still it is stunningly beautiful

Just sat in the Olympia Bar Arabba,coffee and quantro on the side,surfing ukgser and came across your post.You probably overtook us at some point. One of our favourite parts of Italy too. Fantastic weather but for 1 day.

So next thing is to hop down to the brilliantly name Leghorn to jump on the ferry to Bastia

So Camping order of the day, however decided to Pikey Camp and found a field with a bit of shade in the hills, worked out great apart from the obligatory Bravo Two Zero Goat Boy

So out and about Corsica, decided to head to Ille Rouge area to camp up in hills and meet in Calvi with a couple of mates serving there, couple of legionaires moonlighting as dive school leaders in Calvi

So off to explore the more remote parts, loads of trails and decent roads, headed to highest point on island Monte Rotundo named after a fat bastard, imagine my disappointnment when i couldnt get my skinny Latte here

Wont bore you with loads of road and trail shots but if you go be aware of cattle !! Approaching a great section I ran into an ex of mine. In all the roads in all the world she had to take a huge dump on the best line in a great right hander; maybe I should have bought her more flowers

So bye bye Corsica, cool place, early ferry so roughed it in bivi bag on floor as I had early start

So hacked it over to florence, pull up to Irish bar near train station and presto, fans of GSAs

So decided to freshen up whilst in Florence which is a beautiful city

My kit did smell of me, it now smells of me, hotel handwash and stale urine

Combat laundry drying, hairdryer balanced on bog roll holder, improvise , adapt and all that crap

So blast east to San Marino and Rimini, SM was nice but just a hill with a town on it really, having said that my idea of sophistication is emptying the sink before I go for a piss so fair play

Norf towards Venice now, no photo of it but the causeway about 20 miles south is an amazing ride, like the bridges you see in Florida Keys, this ferry was a short cut en route, it was bloody roasting and v tempting to just ride of the end a la Evel K

Managed to attract a free tour guide in Venice. For some reason I woke up with a sore arse and a smile it took Italy best surgeons 4 hours to get off my face

En route to Grosslockner, oh fucking grow up Mark, this was a hotel for ex military pilots put out to stud

So famous Grosslockner, amazing, massive, unexpected, staggering, steep, thats just the fucking 19 euro toll

So this is where I lost my camera !!!! Thank god I was doing a FB blog with my iphone which are these pics. Top Tip, change SD cards every few days, if you lose a 50 quid camera no dramas, the pics grrrrrrr

It is a truly staggering road and the trip continues to be blessed with amazing weather
