just had it all apart to fix the drive shaft foible, it sat for a week on center stand now
wont start even tried jump starting it off the car turns over nicely just wont fire, got plenty of gas, now i did see a post about a fuel pump foible?
any ideas?cheers

Could be the Fuel Pump Controller, but the fact that it's been in bits might suggest some part of the re-assembly has been less than perfect.
Check everything before you spend £70 on a new FPC and/or get someone local to show you the FPC (temporary) workaround.... or have a search on here for "FPC workaround"..

check to see if you can hear the fuel pump kicking in the moment you turn on the ignition. You should hear a whirr for a second or two as the system pressurises (don't press the starter button). If no noise suspect FPC.

If you only worked on the FD there's nothing back there that should stop the engine firing.

Check you are getting a spark too

When my FPC died, I did a diagnosis by running wires directly from the battery to the fuel pump terminals (using bullet connectors to make electrical contact with the fuel pump pins thus bypassing the FPC).

With the fuel pump whirring away permanently(albeit temporarily) I pressed the starter and she fired up, ergo the FPC was dead.

anyway...

popped out the shed tonight i've had the battery on charge all night and day tried starting but to no avail, anyway remembering when i got home from my last ride(very very wet) i had sprayed acf 50 head to toe then cleaned it nxt day and had clean up and around the bit where (the wires for the fuel pump are and the pipe also some how had knocked the pipe loose?
pressed it down once it didn't stay then again nope then a bit harder and click! it stayed
wahoo !!! pressed the magic button and turn over then roared into life.... well not quite a roar but it did sound good to hear it run again
thanks guys for your suggestions:D
