So, following from my PC not booting (which turned out to be a simple bloody connection that I hadn't reseated as well as I thought) it won't now display the Standby button and won't activate the screen saver or power off the drives after the specified time setting.
I think it's probably the fact I changed the CMOS battery as part of my fault finding exercise and the BIOS settings were lost.
I've tried all sorts of BIOS changes relating to the ACPI power settings (enabling and disabling just about every setting possible) but nothing brings back the Standby button or allows the screen saver to start working again. Also messed around with the Control Panel Power settings which hasn't helped.
Any ideas?
Cheers
