OK, Ive changed my brake hoses today and am wondering what else should I check or do while the tank is off, any ideas??

Is there anything under there that needs servicing or checking??

I have an Autoswitch that I might fit while its off also :)

Air filters a simple change you can do now.

Check the wiring. Give it a clean etc.

Change the fuel filter.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it :thumb2

PS when you replace tank, double and triple check that your throttle cables are seated properly in the TB housings, or your next thread will be titled "why is my bike running so badly" :D

Pull all the connectors on the right hand (top) side looking for any corrosion then pack them with electrolytic grease to prevent any future problems.

Cut the cable tie which holds the small loom from the ignition switch, it allows it to move more freely.

Squirt some lube onto the alternator adusting bolt threads.

If you're not changing the fuel filter, remove the nuts on the cover one at a time and use copper slip or grease on the threads
:)

That's the best tip ever in the whole wide World. :bow Every time my tank comes off I lube those studs. Be gentle and don't force anything!

Air Filter is K&N so just needs a clean so thats a good idea :)

Ive kinda checked wiring looks OK I guess, was thinking of doing fuel filter and do actually have one, just didnt see it when I took tank off so guessing its inside??

Been there, done that so not gonna fall for the old throttle cable problem :)

Some good ideas there Tomolga and already had the problem with the ignition switch wiring so I think Ive sorted that one. which connectors are you refering to? Are they the ones at the top near the down tube bit that go to switch gear etc?

Thanks guys, some good ideas while tank is off and im glad it was almost empty coz they are bloody heavy!
