NuMaps Upate with NOH 660?

I thought that when I bought a NOH 660 from globalgps that I'd get one free map update under the NuMaps guarantee, however when I set up a "mygarmin" account and plugged the 660 in it said it was registered last March, therefore no free update available.

Anyone else had this issue?

I've tried contacting Garmin but still waiting for a sensible response.

I had the same with my NOH 660. Garmin should set this straight for you. I took the view that I was going to buy a lifetime subscription to the mapping anyway so just ordered a gift card from Handtec for £50 and had done with it. As I say though, persist with Garmin as you are eligible for the NuMaps guarantee.

Thanks for that, I probably will get the life time update thingy at some point but could do with the update now (without have to shell out another £50)

Newly Over Hauled i.e a secondhand/returned unit which has been refurbished.

Quite often the case.

Or they can be 're-purposed' units that may have been destined/packaged/'mapped-up' for one market but have then been un-packed and changed to suit another market.

If the OP has only contacted Garmin by email then I suggest giving them a ring as that tends to get better/faster results.
