I'm going to fit the Zumo 590 mount/power cable to my Africa Twin this morning.
When I fitted the same mount to my Versys a while back I tucked in all the unused cables under the fairing. But it's all a bit tighter on the AT.
As I only need the power cables and not the audio/mic/USB leads,is there any reason why I can't just cut them off or will this give me problems when using the 590 connected via Bluetooth ?

Don't know about a 590, but was in a similar situation with my 660. Loads of wires which were neither use or ornament to me. Out came the side-cutters and the job was done; just left the power cables which I connected through the can-bus. Tidy it all up with some tape and that was it. Bluetooth works fine.

If it connects to Bluetooth out of the cradle then it doesn't need the cables.

Just my guess.

Sent using smoke and mirrors.

Goes without saying perhaps but make sure that the internal conductors cannot short together and seal them against water ingress.
