numpty i-tunes question

only use itunes once in a blue moon and each time it's grief

have deleted what I thought were unnecessary extra media players

On trying to open itunes today, it tells me it can't without quicktime and that I must uninstall then reinstall itunes.

This is the numpty bit - I can't access itunes , so can't opt for the uninstall option.

I can go on system tools / add or remove programs - to remove itunes, but not sure that's the same thing - it may be a step too far, compared to just an uninstall.

Am I being too literal here, oris uninstall and remove, even in computer speak, pretty much the same thing ?

No need to uninstall it. Just download the latest version of itunes (which quicktime is bundled with) from the apple website and install. It will take care of uninstalling any older versions you may have. It is supremely annoying that it can't operate without quicktime though. Just their way of forcing you to keep yet another piece of their software on your pc I suppose.

I'm still sure it's something daft I've done - if I want to play an album NOT on shuffle, I have to listen to every track twice.
