Assuming I purchased one of these Hella adapters, made it suitably waterproof and connected one of these USB adapters to it. Can I then just plug all my USB devices in via their normal USB cable to charge or do I need to be concerned about output voltage from the bike? I've also seen this set that suggests there should be something in between. The manual doesn't provide much information beyond "there's a socket on the dash you can plug stuff in to".

Recommendations for what's best to ensure I don't fry the electrics on my new bike or trusty iPhone are much appreciated.

Think of it just like a 12v socket in a car, you are over complicating the problem :comfort Or hard wire a solution :thumb2

I have seen a USB charger somewhere that you take straight off the battery, it converts from 12V down to 5V, about £15 i think, could be just what you are after ?? Now if I could only remember where I saw it :blast
