Nutty finally goes to Dent

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting up with Nutty, together with his friend Mark to show them a little bit of Yorkshire

We delayed the meet up until 11 am, due to inclement weather

This soon improved and we were on our way, after meeting up at Leyburn


The lardy 1150 was somewhat outclassed by Mark's Tracer and Nutty's Hilltopped 100XR, no bother.......they could only go as slow as their leader for the day

After coffee at Thwaite, we travelled over Buttertubs and on to Hawes and then over the coal road at Garsdale, towards Dent

Dent was very surprisingly quiet for a school holiday Friday in July, we dined in the fabulous Stone Close tearooms, the Goat's Cheese salad that Mark had was lovely - lunch of champion bikermates

We departed via Barbondale, one of my favourite Dales on a sunny day

Coming back out of Ingleton, we had to stop at Ribblehead, for the obligatory pics of the viaduct and over to Ingleborough over the road

Then down to Horton and from Stainforth, up over to Littondale and the splendid rear views of Pen Y Gent.

Cake stop at Zarina's at Kettlewell finished off a good ride, before heading over Park Rash into Coverdale where we departed at Middleham to head to our respective homes

We then met at 8pm for some fine dining at the Hack and Spade, Whashton - a very fitting end to a great day's riding

Indeed, we did 4-5 of Britain's Highest Roads..............all in a 120 mile loop of the Dales
