Does anyone have a pair of bluetooth earphones working with a bluetooth equipped Garmin Nuvi. I'm especially interested in the 1490T, 2460LT & 1695.

Thanks

I think you'll find that you can't do that. As far as I'm aware, nüvis don't support dual pairing to bluetooth devices, so you can't connect an audio device to them, only a phone to use the GPS unit as a hands-free device in a car.

I'm sure Garmin could quite easily enable dual pairing in nüvis but then there'd be less of an incentive for you to buy a Zumo.

I think we'll find you're right, though it may be possible with models like the 765. But I'm sure you're right about the Zumo incentive - twice the price for a smaller screen, rubber gasket and Mapsource.

As far as I can tell from hours of wading through Garmin specification pages the only in-car Nuvi that will allow audio to a helmet, all be it via earphones and an 3.5mm jack is the 1490TV 'cause it features a digital TV receiver and radio.

I don't think even the 765 will do what you want. Certainly the earlier 760 and 770 don't support dual pairing.

Yes, SWMBO and I have far too many GPS units.....

Dual pairing, no. Garmin have disabled that on the 765. It will pair with the phone for hands free phone in the car, on the bike the Bluetooth will pair with my Autocom #1273 Bluetooth dongle to give directions and MP3 via Bluetooth (I believe this is what the OP is asking Schtum, didn't mention using a phone :nenau). But it won't run the phone though the Nuvi and back out again via Bluetooth.

Both phone and dongle (recognised as a headset by the Nuvi) will pair simultaneously, but it will only route the phone via the speaker and internal mic. It does have a dual Bluetooth capability, they just can't talk to each other. as you say Schtum; I thing Garmin intentionally knobbled that :blast

Now I haven't bothered to buy a fully wired Zumo lead and try that with a phone. The 765 cradle has a 2.5mm mic socket and the unit itself has a 3.5mm jack for audio out.

I have my 765 hard wired for audio out only via an isolated stereo lead to my Autocom, the Bluetooth dongle is for phone only.
