o/t Leaky fork seals & scored tubes

Actually not a bmw question as its on my honda, rather than my GS, but as you people are so knowledgable...

A fork seal has gone on my VTR, i've taken both forks off and stripped the offending side. Now there are slight scores on the fork tube - you can see them on the tube but they're not deep enough to feel with your nail (similar to scratches on a CD).

So question of the day is, does any know whether they can be polished out? Is this worth doing, or just rebuild the fork with a new seal and see how i get on?

If they can be polished, any ideas who and where it can be done?

If the scratches are as light as it sounds, I'd just fit new seals and only plan to worry if they cut up and leaked soonish. Can't help on polishers - on cheap hacks, it was more than the bike was worth to re-chrome the fork stanchions so the popular bodge was to fill the pits with araldite...

thanks - i'll give it a go; the scratches are very light and its a pretty straight forward job if the seal does go again.
