Just had my invite through for the Mega-Open Day at Ocean in Plymouth.
Ride all the bikes(think you have to book in advance, but I may be wrong),free German themed B-B-Q ....and,rumour has it,an HP2 MEGAMOTO down for the event too:P:grndevil

Anyone else going?

Busy this weekend otherwise I'd go, after all it'd be nice to have a free hotdog after giving em £400 for my service :)

They wasted 28p sending one to some old duffer on the other side of the moor.

.. and said old duffer has just this second rung, my airhead is two minutes away.

He was lost .......... arh the wonders of GPS

Originally I was due to test ride a HP2 today but they went and sold it. However, it was arranged for me to take out the HP2 Megamoto that they had available for this week only. I asked for the salesman Andy only to be told that he was off work today. When I explained that I had arranged to test the Megamoto, I was told that was not possible as it was reserved only for those people who "definitely intended to buy one". I explained that I was seriously interested in an HP2 Enduro and they appeared very similar to me. At this point, new man in pin-striped suit announced to me in a very condescending and patronising manner that the Megamoto was in fact a road bike whilst the Enduro was an off-road bike so they were entirely different.

Borrowed brand new F800 loan bike which was great apart from self launching top box. Three times it has ejected itself from the bike the third time after being locked on to bike by Mark and Bill with assurances that it could not come off again. A few miles down the road and it flew past me like the bouncing bomb in the Dambuster movie.

Collected my bike after service and paying for various items including road testing. As soon as bike was started up, it made a horrid screeching noise which was not right. Mark took it back into workshop (it was now 5.00pm) and told me to take the F800 again to get home.

Disappointed. :(

Not to usual standard which got Ocean the Dealer of the Year award last year.

Sorry Sid

Hi Sid Sorry mate but I bought the HP2 and it's wizzard, you should of got it while you had the chance,,,,, Ocean were fantastic, a pleasure to deal with.:beerjug:

Top box overtook me twice this morning whilst returning F800. Not much left of it after it twice bounced down the road at 50mph. Had to buy a racket strap to tie what was left of it back to the rack. In fairness, Bill at Ocean took the issue very seriously when he saw how easy it was for top box to come off. The clips that hold it on only overlap by a few millimetres and due to the flexibility of the mountings it is easy to come loose. He has reported it back to the factory.

My old R1100GS was now fixed with nothing extra to pay. Andy was very apologetic about "confusion" over Megamoto and agreed with me it is almost same as HP2 with road tyres and suspension.

Jury is still out on new sales manager but you can't win them all.

Sid

PS Judge - I told them you are an old airhead rider so they could cancel your test ride and reallocate it to a more wealthy rider. :)
