I'm having an odd choke issue on the 1100GS.

Before starting the bike from cold, I put the choke on all the way and hold it there for a few seconds while I start the bike. Bike starts fine so I release the choke and it goes back to the on position as I'd expect.

When the bike is started it goes to around 1500rpm and slowly rises. But after about 30 seconds the engine starts to die. Starts spluttering and the rpm starts dropping. I give it a bit of throttle and this cures it for a few seconds but then starts again.

Usually at this stage I take off and all is well. Once the bike is warm it idles fine and idles with the choke on fine. It's just this start bike + 30 seconds splutter.

Any ideas?

Could be your bike is one of those that simply doesn't need any choke now it isn't quite so cold... mine doesn't.. just a touch of throttle and pull away.

From what I know, the choke on 1100 is just a fast idle, and it opens the TB's without moving the TPS ;)

I use no choke or gas when I start my 1100 :)

Mine blubbers and farts about at first when cold in the way you describe. otherwise apart from the occasional stall when idling its running well, I have an ignition loom problem which I think is related to the stalling.
