Odd tapping noise?

Hi
Have just started to notice an odd tapping noise on my 100gs
Engine sounds great at tickover but raise the revs to 1500 and I get a noise like very loose tappet.
Increase the revs and the noise seems to disappear
Checked the clearances and they were spot on
Any ideas?

Did you check the end float on the rocker arms? -->

As above...maybe the needle rollers in the tappet arm spindles are worn ?

Unfortunately it was trashed in the " pannier incident" so new clymer one on the way!
