mulling 2610 v quest at the moment.

i'm thinking the self powered ability of the quest would be something of an advantage ie. programming/playing with the thing in your hotel room for instance.

does the panel think that is a feature rarely needed or quite useful?

Surely there is a transformer out there for the 2610 to allow the use of AC power. I have a couple of transformers that have multi DC voltages and multi adaptors, bought them for guitar pedals/effects boxes.

How daft is this? I've just attached the European adaptor to the 2610 AC power lead (just to make sure it fits) and can't get the damned thing off again to put the UK adaptor back on. Is there a knack to this, before I resort to the blunt screwdriver method, like I did with the back of my Nokia phone the other day... (never went back on properly, though that wasn't surprising considering the new condition of the securing lugs)? I've even RTFM!
Ta muchly,

I've got a 2610 & had a Quest (both types - don't ask). As the other chaps have said having the power lead means the lack of battery in the 2610 isn't an issue. Personally I prefer the 2610 for the extra memory (2Gb card from 7dayshop).

I have used the Quest on foot but not often enough to miss it.

Either are good units though :)

I think I should have started a new thread really, but was doing some searching just in case this has been asked before. Sorry for any confusion.
I have had a 2610 for several years but have never been daft enough to try and swap the adaptors over :blast . Just wondering if anyone else has managed to swap them back, without the use of brute force. I'm guessing that once you fit one 'snugly', that's it; it won't come off. :nenau
