Off road again - Tank training area, sun 2nd Oct

What a top day out, thanks everybody, I had a great time and enjoyed putting some names to faces, not to mention pissing myself laughing at the 'bike recovery committee' at the puddle.

Glad to see the armstrong got going again (eventually), can't wait to see the film clip (I think Bryn caught it on camera).

Thanks again guys.

Even the invisible man had trouble navigating the puddles :D

My hubbie says he had an excellent day with you guys... came home completely knackered and minus a RH indicator :)

and thank you Steptoe for organising it .....

Thanks Steptoe,

Teddy and I enjoyed the ride out and it only took me 2hours to clean me and the bike. Took it down the jetwash, you should have seen the faces on the rice rocket riders!!!!!!!!!

Great fun, will post the video if someone can tell me how to do it.

See ya later guys!!!!!!

Thanks for a great day out, had to depart a little early due to a Final Drive seal starting to leak, will be fixed in a few days though.

Hope those who were hurt aren't in too much pain on Monday, especially the guy on the Adventure from Worthing - knackered ankle?

How deep is that then:

Water depth now calibrated in Armstrong cam covers........ :eek In fact it's several metres deep, bike's being kept afloat by special bouyant panniers......

Blimey....what DID you lot do to Bilks??...He was absolutely cream-crackered when he got home..... :D

Bugger, bugger, bugger!

It's clear that I'm too old and too inept for this off-road lark. Yep, as the guy from Worthing on (actually off!) the Adventure, I managed to make it home, took off my boot and the ankle ballooned up. So, off to A&E where the X-ray showed - a broken ankle.

I've cleaved a triangular bit off the fibula (smaller bone) just above the main anke joint. Temporary splint at the moment, fracture clinic tomorrow, where the orthopods will decide whether it needs surgery to pin the bone, or just plaster it and leave it. Either way, it's 12 weeks in plaster.

Many thanks to all those that helped - particularly the guys who rode my bike to the road and gave me a pillion. Much appreciated. What a pity it ended that way as it was a great day out - lotsa fun and a great bunch of guys. Thanks to Steptoe for organising it - looks like a new(ish) bike is stronger than an old(ish) bloke!

Bloody hell Paul, I am sorry to hear that, you did look in pain as you left the training area though.
