Hi 650ers.
Have you fitted off road biased tyres to your bike?
What make were they?
I'm looking for something in the 100/90x19 or 100/100x19 front, and then a matching 130/80x17 for the rear.
Any information will be gratefully received.:thumb2

It's more a question of what is available in those sizes.

The Off Road School use Continental TKC80s, mainly because they come in 19 inch front fitment.

If you want more "Off Road" biased tyres, you'll probably need a 21 inch front wheel & a 18 inch rear. The problem then would be the road sections, getting to your Green Lane.

Yes Wilb, that 19" front is a weird size.
The bike is an Aprilia pegaso that a lad want to do some soft green lanes on. He is a novice so I need to make his bike as 'able' as possible. He is looking for a pogo and will be hooked when he has tried this wonderful pastime.
So far I reckon on Metzeler Karoo, which are available in a 110/90x19 and a 130/80x17. These are reasonably priced also.

The Metzler Karoos work well on the Pegaso i had a pair fitted to one i owned,i did a couple of navigation rallys on them including some fairly technical tracks with no trouble at all

That's it then.
I checked on Metzeler site and there is not a problem with fitting an inner tube to a tubeless type tyre. The front Karoo in that size is listed as TL which is tubeless. The rear is of tubed type so no probs.:thumb2
Thanks for the info.
