Off road numpty seeks wise dirt monkey to teach me all the tricks!

OK, the DR350 is nearly ready for its first attempt at getting a new MOT (its been off the road - but not off-road - for a little over 12 months). Once the paperwork is all in order, I fancy getting good and dirty.

I've done a bit of off-roading in the past - mainly when I was young on the farm on a CR80 and TS125, but also a little more recently doing the odd green lane on the DR350 around Llangollen.

My plea to you guys is, does anyone fancy showing me a few more lanes in either mid or north Wales and helping me to hone my off-road skills?

Give me a shout if you're heading out that way any time soon and fancy taking the p**s out of me along the way!

OK Dude, I'm out that way real soon, like Tuesday 12th of August.....
Or the morning of Wednesday 13th.
I was going to advertise the Tuesday ride on here, and as a novice day.
In fact, I will now do that if you are interested.
The ride will start from a small village South-east of Ruthin so easily accessed from Cheshire, how does that sound?

Unfortunately I can't make a mid-week ride out at the moment - I have used up pretty much all of my annual holiday allowance as I'm off to Austria on the bike in late August and Morocco in October.

Do you ride much at the weekends? If so, I may be able to join you in September or early October.

Trip to Morocco

Jenkins,

I had a trip to Morocco scheduled in October - November. The compagnons now let me know that they can't make it. ( read : spouses don't let them go ) So I am currently looking for a group that will travel to Morocco so I can team up with them.
I live in Belgium, drive a GSA1200, some off road experience but limited. Been road driver for 20 years.
I did the trip last year with an organisation called Hispania tours. I enjoyed it but the off road amount was too limited.

So let me know if you know somebody.

we'll be getting into Santander on Monday 20 October and will be hoping to get to Maroc by 22nd. Look out for us if you make it down there - 2 x R1200GS (both red) and a KTM 990 Adv (blue).

Itinerary

Would you mind sharing your itinerary? Just in case. It might be I am travelling on my own. One never knows.

there isn't really an itinerary. All we know is that we're getting the ferry from Plymouth to Santander on Sunday 19th October (arriving Santander on Monday 20th) and then travelling back from Santander to Plymouth on Thursday 30th October. Anything else is in the lap of the gods, but we will hopefully be in Maroc from Wednesday 22nd October to Tuesday 27th October. We'll be doing all the usual roads, routes, attractions and gorges with the aim of getting to Zagora for a souvenir photo at the '52 days to Timbucktu' sign.

If you are in Maroc during that time keep an eye out for us and you'll be welcome to tag along. As I think I've already said we'll be on 2x R1200GS (both red) and a blue KTM 990 Adv. I'm sure there'll be loads of other bikers in the area at the same time so I'm sure you'll find plenty of people to hook up with .
