Just to give you a heads up ....
1st April there is a 'pay and practise' day for adventure bikes at Mereworth woods, which is near wrotham, Kent. This is an MOD training area, and it's been booked for what will in effect be an off road track day.
The circuit will be about 6 miles long and is really laid out with adventure and enduro bikes in mind (so to that end moto-x bikes will be turned away. Road legal bikes only and bring a driving licence..). The route will have options in it for simpler or more technical stuff. There will also be the chance for some limited instruction for novices.
Tyres need to be something along the line of TKC's. It'll be a mix of simple gravel, and you'll get the chance to play in rutts and a bit of water!
Come and play. It's an absolutely ideal environment to have a go.
£45 for a whole day. Loos, burger van on site.
