Off-Road question, help required.

I have to be in Ireland (not NI) during June and I would like to bring my off-road motorcycle in the van. What is the law with regard to the off-road scene? In England there are what is known as "Byway open to all traffic" (an unsealed track in most cases), are there similar routes available for riding a motorcycle? Are the tracks sign posted? Or is it just a free for all, go where you like attitude?

The bad news is the byways thing doesn't exist here so anywhere you'll go will strictly speaking be not legal (I didn't say illegal)
The good news is the ramblers and walkers over here are nowhere as militant and agressive as in England so you can get away with going anywhere at least once
Playing the "I didn't know card" is much more acceptable in Ireland than most other places too.

As a result, you may not get anyone posting openly their favourite places to go but put up a post nearer the time as there is always something on and can be updated by PM.
