I was wondering about the off-road skills course in Bunclody: how many people are set to go this year and any feedback from last year's event?

I didn't go last year but was there for both the '06 & '07 ones (slow learner :() & thoroughly enjoyed it. Really good bunch of instructors & the pupils are usually decent too. Would have no hesitation in recommending it :thumb2

If only I had the free time and that kind of money in these recessionary times I might consider it. :augie

Instead I just asked the lads who'd gone to show me what they'd learned :thumb2 that only took a few minutes.

BMW Off Road Skills
New for 2009 - a day in the dirt with Simon Pavey....
Simon Pavey and his experienced team of off road instructors return with a wider range of motorcycles than ever before. Chose from F800GS, R1200GS, G650 X Challenge or G650X Country to test in the variety of terrain offered by Mount Leinster.

No experience is necessary for the Off Road Skills School course however if you are a seasoned off roader we can cater for you too. This two day course provides the both opportunity to learn new skills which will also improve your road riding and the chance to practice them with expert supervision.

The Day in the Dirt with Simon Pavey is a new course for 2009 and gives those who are keen to ride with Simon and his team in a more relaxed enviroment the opportunity to do so. Numbers are limited to 16 and with more riding and less of the structured, formal excercises during the day you will still pick up hints and tips from the instructors as you negotiate the terrain of Mount Leinster.

The 2008 BMW Motorrad Ireland Off Road Skills Events runs between Friday 5th June to Tuesday the 9th in two two day Off Road Skills Schools (5th and 6th and 8th and 9th) and one Day in the Dirt (Sunday 7th June). Accomodation has been secured at The Millrace Hotel (tel: 053-9375100) so please mention you are attending the BMW Off Road Skills course to avail of the special rate...
