Having been here for well over a year now and ridden the Adventure a good deal off road I thought I might list the changes / additions to the bike that have had the most effect (for me)

1. Fastway foot pegs, brilliant what a difference, these have transformed riding stood up from a painful necessity to an all day set up by far the best mod I have done and coupled with:-
2. NN Bar risers high speed long distance dirt riding is a joy and a thrill.
3. Odd one this but the padding on the rear end of a Baglux tank harness makes gripping the tank whilst stood up a zero briuse affair. It also covers the scratches on my shiney tank having gon bush without it on.
4. A Sheepy Hollow seat cover means we can ride the tank dry on a standard Adv seat pillion as well.
5. Reverting back to TKC80s after mistakenly (based on UK experience) tried Tourances again, great on the road scarey on loose gravel/sand or wet clay.
6. A basic "go that way 30km" GPS follow the arrow stuff an collate it with a map and compass, keep it simple.

The bike might be a big heavy brute but it has a knack of getting there some how way beyond the range of light weight trials stuff and in one piece and relativly comfortably.

which model? The tank covers for the 12's are heaps different to the 1150's

R 1150 GS

cheers - I had a cover on my 1150, but since I moved to the 12adv, there doesn't seem to be much point in a bagster/baglux etc.

Just about the same set up as me. :thumb
Although I use a Corbin seat and uprated spring on an Ohlins rear shock.
Oh, and perhaps one day I'll do something about the stand whacking my left foot on the bumpy sections
