Off roading fail

Camera bikes I understand, but WTF do they allow other bikes and cars to be on the same bit of road as racing cyclists?

Alternatively, but WTF do they allow racing cyclists with virtually no protection on bikes of limited stopping ability on the same bit of road as bikes and cars? :augie

It looks like he had to swerve to avoid clipping with one of cyclists and went off the road...

Because they are necessary for the race, with Press TV, Referees(commissaries) Radio Tour bikes, Neutral service, Regulators and peloton safety who have to flag obstacles until the riders are past and then get past the riders to the next obstacle. All the vehicles there have a role and all have to be experienced to have the licence required to ride on these events, unfortunately he ran out of road, the cyclists are use to having the Moto's there and usually allow just enough room. My guess is this guy was a safety marshal who flags obstacles and goes through the bunch many times each day.

Nah - I dont see that. Looks like he was overtaking the cyclists (for whatever reason), and drifted off road whilst not concentrating enough what lies ahead. Maybe he liked the lycra clad bum to his left?

Well, I blame John Wayne from an earlier thread, if he hadn't been wearing that eye patch he wouldn't have missed the peddle bike !

Looks like his front wheel drops in a rain gully just before he loses it...

I think he suddely saw that low wall coming and decided to steer out of that wet rut, wich of course doesn't work.
