From the earlier threads, I intend at some point to buy a gs. The plan (aspirational I know) is to do some very light off-roading. Are there light rails readily available in the Reading/ Oxon/ Bucks area?

thanks

Samsgs,

I would get in touch with the TRF although some members mention that they are 'quirky' they have a lot of information available.

There are also private groups who get together and hire out land/trails on weekends etc.

There is info online but it takes a bit of digging unless you know what your looking for.

Good luck, and if you find any info......please share.

Paul.

TRF

I'd agree on contacting the TRF - I've been a member of the Surrey TRF for the last 4 years and have been on loads of ride outs with them and now have a small group of guys I regularly ride with. Look out for rides specifically advertised as being suitable for big traillies until you get to know your bike as there is actually some very good dirt riding available in the UK (including down your way) that is all the more fun when attempted on an 800.

Here are 2 short videos (taken while on my F800) to show you what's available one here and one here.

You could also join the forum on Adventure Bike Rider magazine (an excellent mag if you don't already subscribe) where you will find loads of like minded persons riding mainly bigger bikes than the TRF blokes ride.

Have fun!

As they've said before. TRF is supposed to be a good resource - I'm still to join - looks like now is the time to do it. North Oxon is quite rubbish for BOATs and trails in general - at least official ones.
I know of a few short byways, but that's about it. ABR has got some nice routes too, previous issue had something around Stratford, unless my memory fails. Northamptonshire has got a lot more byways to play on, sadly I know very little about them.

TL;DR: There's places out there, finding them is difficult.

Good luck!

Come over to Wantage... Tons of BOATs round here that I intend to explore once the days get a bit longer.
