Hello all,
I've been a forum member for some time but I don't post very often so please let me introduce myself. I run a guided trail riding service in the beautiful Shropshire border country [see www.adventureride.co.uk ]
In September this year we're hosting a rally and long distance trail/road ride tailored specifically towards GS riders running on road tyres. It's a small event [approx 10 bikes] and the weekend price includes accommodation and excellent food. The event will revolve around a 270 mile trip on the Saturday taking in some fabulous roads and hard-packed trails suitable for big bikes. These trails are also for the most part pillion friendly so it's a great opportunity to bring your partner along to enjoy the fun. Here's a pic of the typical off road terrain we'll cover

I'll confirm the full itinerary in due course but briefly it will involve a social meet up and meal on Friday night. Breakfast and early start on Saturday and then off into the Welsh borders and beyond for a big day out in the mountains taking in some of the classic border trails before returning to base for Saturday evening group meal. Breakfast on the Sunday is provided and there will be an optional ride on Sunday morning.
The focus of the weekend is all about having a great ride through some stunning scenery and also about getting a bit of dirt on the tyres without the need for for any special bike preparation.
Our base will be the Station Inn at Marshbrook [see www.stationinnmarshbrook.co.uk ] and our host will be landlord Richard who also happens to own a GS and is an experienced off road guide. Accommodation will be in heated camping pods - think wooden tent and you'll get the picture- have a look on the Station Inn website if you want to see one.
The food at the Station is excellent as is the beer. There's also some good craic in the pub on a Friday and Saturday night and I'm sure you'll have a very enjoyable stay. Cost for the weekend is £160 all in, with a reduced rate of £120 for pillion riders.
Full details will appear on the Adventure Ride and the Station Inn. As I said , numbers will be limited to ten machines so if you're interested and want some more details or to make a provisional booking please drop me a line at [email protected]

How suitable for a pillion are the off-road sections? Two up on a GSA on Tourances?
