Offroad from north to south Portugal

Hi,

It's ok for a "normal" 4x4!

The 4x4 in the picture is a 95 Range Rover with strawberry tires as we say!:)

how easy is LPG to get near the track that would be my problem (difficult I imagine)

I only get 125 miles to full tank, that sort of driving i'll be down to 80 :blast

I'd need to put another tank in the boot :eek

Or leave SWIMBO at home and go on the bike :D

I have the GREEN LIGHT, Mrs B has had enough of me slopping about, so whos got the route please

Just need to learn how to mend a punture on the KTM on my own

Hadn't seen this - big sigh, I'm trapped!! Trapped!!! limited time off from work, mortgage to pay, wife to keep in shoes, dog to walk, kids to pick up from school.....

Aaaaaaarrrggghhhhhhhh!!!!!

I wanna come .....!!!!!!!

Bakes, I will be revisiting Portugal next year some time, May/ June maybe....
Now I won't be riding Ponta a Ponta, but it will be with the Nomad Moto Club who founded the PaP, and instead I'll be continuing the VaP route that they have been doing since the PaP was made by them.
The VaP is a trail around the outer extremities of Portugal, as close to sea and Spain's borders as possible. This year, which I attended with my x-challenge, started from Viana Do Castello and ended somewhere near Vinhais. Take a look on googlemap, it looks feck-all of a distance, but believe me, this VaP leg took some doing.
Next year will be Vinhais, Montesinha Park/ Braganca and then turning South...... I can't wait.

Timpo.

Is there maps for the PaP (presume this is Portugal end to end), how long is it and what sort of % is off road?

GPS routes are being kicked round, but due to road construction and a crazy bastard with a shotgun, the origanal route has been altered.....

Probably a good idea, he wasn't messing around with it was he?:D

Timpo, where do I take it from here, I have the bike, some time and want to do this journey ?

Quim or Louis Lorenco in the Nomad Club Portugal. Louis is an inmate on advrider.
I will message some of the Nomads on facebook, they may have a current version....

Thank you very much, is it sidecarable as much of the T.A.T was, silly question looking at that sand, we only had about a mile of soft sand on the T.A.T

I would say that in places the route would be very difficult with an outfit, as with a boxer GS also.
Some of the central route I saw again this year, and heavy forestry operations had left huge ruts where the timber handlers had been used.
Old vineyards and olice plantations had many tight hairpins to on steep terracing...... could be tricky with sidecar.
