offroading around coalville - be careful

If you want to go out I could do Sunday (25th Jan) and take you round I'll be on the pogo though, as I'm in the peaks on the GS day before.

I dont suppose anyone happens to have a set of tyre levers... or even better... would help me change over a set of front tyres if i brought the wheels to them would they? Im lending my CRM to my polish mate for the weekend (as he doesnt have much offroad experience and will likely lob his v strom otherwise) but unfortunately the previous owner decided to keep a nobbly on the back but a road tyre on the front:confused:

Now if he crashes .. im not worried about the crm.. its him... his mrs will kill me / kick me in the nuts if he gets hurt.... think of my nuts people ... THINK OF MY NUTS!!!!

Count me in if its suitable for a 950 SE - :bounce1

be best to contact Noel.... a lot of it will be dependant on tyre choice and the amount of rain we get between now and Saturday, and of course, your own confidence and ability :augie
Some of the tracks can get waterlogged, and a road biassed tyre may struggle a little..HTH

I would recommend with the current weather road biased tyres are not suitable unless your used to riding off road in them, TKC's or similar would be recommended, I can do a ride in the better weather (if/when) for road tyres and will do it on my GS too. The lanes are flat but can be muddy and large puddles, we will avoid some lanes depending ability, weather, suitable tyres. Due to deep water and possibility of excessive mud some may get stuck but I'm a good pusher :D

What time are you available on the Sunday Noel? Muck donalds ok for a meet up for you?

Has anyone been checking out the forecast for sunday... pants... it doesnt look too good.

I ride in all weahters snow, wind/rain, so I'm happy to ride if you are, by all means if you want to arrange for another day thats great as long as I know the previous weekend.

Looks as if its just the 2 of you then Noel/ Vilguy :ymca:D

My mate is being all gay and mamby pamby "ooohhh its gonna be raining... i dont wanna go if its raining.. ill get wet" :drool

Maybe have to rearrange if the forecast dont change, sorry to be a pain mate.

looks like you have a good day for the peaks though.

Ok well im up for sunday, ill take my mate out on saturday too.

Just be prepared for rain on the sunday! haha

Turned out to be a damp squib!!

due to lack of communication only Pdiddy turned up at the allotted time.
I also made it on a borrowed bike. There were a few txt's flying about , but they all seemed to be at the wrong times...

could go into detail, but it gets complicated.
We'll know better next time!!

raises his hand... my fault

I presumed most other people would be online at 2 am in the morning!

Doh.

Anyone up for resurrecting this... might be tempted to get out the KLR 250 as a recce bike , as running road tyres on the GS until we are out of the current cold snap for better grip.
