i'm off to do the bmw offroad course on saturday with me old feller...........how the frigg do you change gear in the offroad boots?.....just had a go on me sons 50cc............much to the amusement of his friends.....help there must be a nack..............(worried of warrington)..lol

If the bike is'nt set up for me, I often end up using the side of my boot or even "heel" it up if its a fiddle.

If you dont off road alot you may be sitting too far back on the seat, if you slde yer bum forward your foot will angle down better behind the gearchange lever.

I'm doing my off-road thingy ealry August . . . I tried sitting on my GS with my motoX boots on, and I too can't understand how the frig you get yer foot under the gear lever!! :( I'm worried too . . like you say, there's no movement in the ankle . . . . it's ashame we aren't doing the course on the same weekend . . mines 3 weeks time.

I reckon you & I will be the 2 women to go down in history at the BM off-road place, . . .the women who stayed in 1st gear only!! :D lol

Good luck Janie :)

The gear levers are adjusted up to give you more chance of getting your boot under. And as Shep says, you often end up changing with the side lip of the boot. They alter all the controls to make it easier to use standing on the pegs - handlebar controls are loosened and angled down and brake levers moved down, too. They're very strict on boots now, if you don't have some fairly rigid boots they'll make you use some of the wet stinky ones they have out the back.

But it's a great course, you'll enjoy it.
