I want a sat nav on my GSA but not sure which route to go down.
I have a Ipaq HX4700 with Tomtom and an external Bluetooth GPS receiver which I use in the car and it is pretty good, it would be pretty good if I could use this on my bike but need a way to mount it and make it waterproof and get a pwr feed to it.

I also use Tomtom on my Sony Ericsson P910i with the same BT GPS unit as above, again this would need to be mounted and made waterproof and would need a pwr feed as the battery lasts about 30mins when Tomtom is running.

I'm not to bothered about getting a pwr feed to the GPS unit as that lasts for approx 10 hrs on one charge, but it would be nice to have it in the same location as the satnav so I can see the lights etc.

Does anyone know about any sort of waterproof mount kit for either of these units that I could use?

Wunderlich do a few things which should help you here:

The media bag will keep your PDA nice and dry.

And you can mount it either using a IPAQ specific RAM Mount and Cradle (http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ipaq-mounts.htm) or the Wunderlich equivalent:

Wunderlich can be bought from Nippy Normans and other shops.

Another alternative would be to use a specially adapted tank bag:

This is the Touratech one, which replaces the map window on their own tank bag. I've seen another one somewhere which has an air pump which pushes the PDA against the bag window allowing you to see it easier.

I tried to do this a few years back, using both a mobile phone and Bluetooth GPS, and a integrated PDA/GPS/Phone.

My biggest hassle was keeping it waterproof whilst still being able to see the PDA's screen clearly. The only time it worked satisfactorily was when there was little or not direct light - ie at night!

Have fun,

Mike
