Discovered on my return from Beaulieu that my rear Ohlins has sprung a leak, leaving a puddle of oil on the garage floor.

It's at times like this you think to yourself "if only I hadn't sold my original Showa, thinking I wouldn't need it again".

Anyone got any idea how much this is going to cost me to get repaired/serviced?

It should be c. £80 to service an Ohlins shock.

...but one of our number was quoted similar recently & final bill came to £160 odd, so beware.

AH yes the Ohlins shock! and I don't mean the 'shock' absorber.
I had the quote from Harris @ £70 but when you add up all the parts it came to £160 including P&P. I have heard of the White Power shocks doing 30,000+ miles and have not needed a service. I have WP on another bike of mine and again no probs.
You pays your money and!

£160 would have been a bargain.

Final bill came to £205.36, but this did include a new shaft, new bush seal holder thingy, and a heavier spring.

Mine ended up at £180 for a rebuild, heavier spring and a replacement pipe....

i did keep my old ones.. just in case, luck as they had them for two weeks.

Try Falcon Shock Absorbers Ltd in Wareham. All they do is shocks. Can overhaul Ohlins, WP and standard shocks. To give you an idea they've just done my Showa RT shock. Strip, rebuild including a new (turned it up themselves) damping rod and seals, installing a valve to re-gas it all came to £145. And this shock was fcuked!! 82,000 miles on it!
