Having recently fitted Ohlins fron & rear (bought off here) to my 1150 I now want to set them up. I know how to do the static sag etc, but I don't know what the standard settings are for comp/rebound etc. My intention is to see what they're at now, set them to standard, test ride and work from there.

So the question is can anyone give me the factory standard settings, as supplied please.:thumb2

Hi KMD,
Hope all has gone well with fitting and setting up your Ohlins suspension.
What i would like to ask is,in what way does it actually "feel" different to the OE suspension and what area's has of the bike's ride has it improved and how has it improved them.

Thanks Steve

Difficult to explain Steve. If I said 'everywhere' it would be too much of a generalisation, but the only word I can think of that would cover it. There isn't a single element of the bike's ride and handling that isn't improved.

On straight roads it's like riding a magic carpet. Smooth, stable and very comfortable. But it's in the bends where you feel it the most, or don't, so to speak. Those bumps mid corner that would occasionally throw you off line, or send a judder through the bars just don't affect the handling in the same way, it rides over them without upsetting the bike and keeps an accurate track. Feel is superb, with the whole bike being planted. You get an impression of the tyres digging in.

This is the second bike I've put Ohlins on. The first was a VFR800, and the difference they made to that bike was night and day. Not cheap but I have to say, best money I've spent on my bikes.

Thanks for the info.
I have decided (for now) to keep my 1150 gsa, so i think a set of Ohlins will definately be on the cards.
It does not handle to bad,but fully loaded 2 up it wallows quite badly.
When we were in Scotland in June,Jo said she actually felt travel sick on a couple of occasions.

Do it if funds allow Steve, you certainly won't regret it.
