Hello all,
After doing an oil and filter change (mid service) will the bike ask for a reset on the service interval?

I want to change the oil with 3k on the clock, but don't have the thingy to plug in for resetting.

I'm hoping I can just pull the plug, fill up and be done.
What say y'all.

Cheers

Service reminders are triggered by mileage and time. Doing an oil change will not trigger any warnings. Be sure to drain from both drain plugs. (search youtube). Don't forget the filter as well. You've had the oil and filter changed at the 1k break in service. Changing it 2k later has nothing to do with what is good for the engine but it I guess you can think of it as practice for when you do the next scheduled oil/filter change.

To be fair to Bob, I did the same thing.
The bike had its first service at 700 miles, then at just over 3000 miles (after a bit of running around and a trip to Barcelona), I noticed that the oil in the sight glass looked a bit on the black side. So it was off to a dealer for the oil and paper filter, a quick look at youtube then I did the deed. Glad I did it, the old oil was very black.
Didn’t worry about a reset, the bike went back to the dealer for the 6K service later on.

I posted about overly long intervals as a trick to make servicing look better value - but its never going to help longevity....

got shouted down, but I'd rather I got the abuse and some people look after their bikes

Thanks for the info, Chaps!
For me it's just about getting into the habit of doing the easy maintenance and letting the boffs do the rest.
While I'm ere, does anyone have the part numbers for the 2 crush washers needed when pulling both belly pan bolts?
Cheers,
Bob
