I realize this is probably a novice question to you guys but is there a procedure to follow when removing the oil cooler. Mine has sprung a leak near the top bracket so I need to replace it, do I need to drain some oil off before I start?

I will probably post in wanted section as well but long shot any one got a cooler in 100% good condition they would like to part with?

Thanks in advance for any the advice

Alan

Just take it off no need to drain the oil.
I have a good one I got on ebay as a spare. I will let you have it for what i paid + a bit of postage.
By the way the cooler is made from aluminium so a good TIG welder who knows what he is about could take off the mountig lug which is riveted on weld up the holes and tack the bracket back on.

Thanks Patrick, I will get the rad off this weekend and see how damaged it is. Some of the guys at work maybe able to sort it for me, if not I will be in touch for yours next week if that’s OK.

thanks again

Alan

No prob, I would go with the weld up option but you have to remove the bracket first and plug the hole. It can be pressure tested with an air line.
The oil cooler is on the oil return, low pressure side.
