Hi Guys, as some of you know I am lucky enough to carry out some testing on NN products - I don`t do this for money, rather as assistance to IMHO is a good supplier and a decent chap who certainly helps me.

So, here`s some images and text from my recent report to NN of which NN has allowed me to post - hopefully to the benefit of us all in our considerations of what to buy.

But honestly, its a well made quality bit of kit - best I`ve seen or used.

The report is simply to allow you guys to make an informed choice.

Norman, hobbling to the garage at the speed of light and dropping to my remaining good knee I am pleased to report as follows:

1. Build quality – top notch, couldn`t fault it. Very well made with an excellent anodised high quality finish.
2. Ease of use – very easy to use, a basic DIY`er could use this tool.
3. Fitment – excellent, gave a good sound purchase on the body of the filter.

I`ve included some images for you to look at (luckily I had an LC kicking about in the garage…………) but without getting all too `American` about it the tool does seem to have a very good feature and that’s that it can be used with either an M16 socket or a Torx 45 tool.

In summary, quality far superior to similar deep drawn steel tools with an option to remove with either an M16 socket, Torx 45 tool or failing that a simple spanner!

Anything else you would like me to do? Comprehensive enough?

A nice bit of kit, Norman – would you like me to post something on the UKGSER site for the benefit of its members?

Mark
Thanks for your quick response.
That would be great if you could review it on UKGSer:

M16?

I'm thinking its a 16mm A/F. Whatever, it's an odd size.

£29! then reduced to £24, Their aving a laugh! :D any other filter tool is around £10, Drop the silly anodising, forget the torx machining, and it might be competitive, otherwise wait till someone brings out a sensibly priced one in non bling standard alloy finish, its just a tool FFS :D

.

That is a very nice looking oil filter wrench. Will there be a US distributor?

My guess is, that in the US it would need to be FAO Schwarz ! I know there's one in New York, on E59th street and 5th Ave, right by the Apple store!!!

You can buy the keyboard that featured in the film Big in there, $250,000....

You'll probably find this tool, right next to it!!

Don`t forget £5 postage takes it back to £29. Way over the top and classic case of form over function :(:(

:robFair one - there's several cheaper ones out there for sure! You don`t have to buy Snap On Quality if you don`t need it. Its down to personal choice

cheers

Its on that NN link mate :thumb

Cheers Mark I did gather that in the end, it was more the comment (howfuckingmuch) after your excellent write up that tickled my laughter button.
Bit pricy but looks good quality, having said that in the end all you need is something to remove the filter even if it damages it slightly your going to through it away, then re-tighten by hand job done.

At that price, I'd expect more than a hand job.......!
