Oil Filter Removal Tool

I need to do an oil change in the near future.

Will I have to get a filter removal tool from BMW or is it a fairly standard size that I will be able to get from somewhere like Halfords?

Clearance is tight, so you'll need one which is very 'thin walled'.

It's worth buying the proper one - they're not hugely expensive & then you'll always have it...

Mike's right - buy the proper tool for six or seven quid. Else search out the recent thread in which someone tried to remove the filter with a screwdriver - that makes even twenty quid seem cheap!

I would`nt buy one from BMW....Motobins, Motorworks etc sell them for a lot less.
