Just had the mid sections of my cylinder head covers replaced under warranty by Rainbow on the 1150 (bless em)..No probs as such except that Ive just found that one of the bolts is leaking oil around its head / the black rubber bush. Is this a big problem ? I would have expected these bolts to be torqued....is it just a case that the rubber bush is probably knackered. I only ask because Rainbow are shut today and so the dilemma is spinning around my cranium !! :beerjug:

It sounds like you're talking about the rocker cover bolts, rather than the cylinder head bolts. Tighten it up & wipe away any oil then keep an eye on it over the next day or so. Don't over tighten - you'll feel it stop tightening quite suddenly. I it still weeps oil, get a new rubber seal & fit it.

Not something to worry about though & really cheap/easy to fix.

If you mean one of the bolts holding the Rocker cover then it shouldnt be a worry mate. The rubber washer may not have seated properly or the bolt may just need nipping up. BM mechanics just nipp em up by hand. There is a torque setting but nobody bothers, I think its 8nm and not many Torque wrenches go that low.

Cheers BB.

Yes !!! a million apologies (forgive my newbieness) you are correct...it is the rocker cover bolts to which I was referring, and both of your advice was correct (and gratefully accepted). Problem rectified....thanks again. MJK:)
