Oil Indicator Disapearing

I still have this issue with mine. BMW Parklane said they were waiting on Germany to let them know however they never got back to me on it. I then took to another dealer and again they could not figure it out either. They then said that there was a recall on the throttle and said this could be the problem, they replaced it however the problem still exists although not as frequently as before. I have since taken up with the Dealer Principle and am waiting on his reply.

Thanks for that. I'll bring it up with the dealership when the 600 mile service is due. From what I can see however, my hopes won't be high!

I think it may be WAD, TBH. Even on the older air/oil cooled models, the oil level display only comes up in the menus when the bike is stationary, with engine idling (and up to normal temperature) and sidestand retracted. In addition, until it has been idling for about 10 seconds, the oil level display only shows "- - -". Once it has been idling for about 10 seconds, the display changes to show "OK" (I assume it would show "LOW" at this point if the level was indeed low). If you have the oil level display selected when you switch off, it will still be active when you switch on again, but will only show "- - -" until it is warmed up.

If you attempt to bring up the oil level display when the engine is not idling, the computer simply skips straight onto the next item. Likewise if you attempt to bring it up when the engine is not yet warmed up, or if the sidestand is extended.
