Having completed a top end overhaul on my 1977 R100RS, head and barrel gaskets, push tubes and seals plus sump gasket, I now an oil leak from an engine mount after removing the nut to remove the lower fairing bracket. All my work seems to be holding up so very frustrated that I now have another leak. Not sure if I caused it or was previously disguised by the push rod seal leak. Any suggestions on how to resolve will be gratefully received. Thank you

Well I don’t know if this helps but, I had, I thought, a similar issue, which turned out to be the oil pressure switch, replaced it with a new one, et voila, leak gone😎

You won’t have an oil leak from the engine mount itself.

The engine mounting studs run through a tunnel in the crank case with no oil in them.

Did you remove the stud and grease it ? It may just be some the excess grease running out when the engine was hot.

Also possible it’s a push rod tube seal weeping.

I give them a wipe of silicon spray so they push in and seat / seal nicely when torquing up the cylinder head.

Thanks for your replies. Cleaned of all oil residue and rode the bike again. No more leak. I suspect having undone the nut earlier I may have released oil that collected in the frame mount from when the cylinder gaskets and push rod tube rubbers were leaking. All replaced now and no more leaks
