Oil question again

Hi

Just finish home servicing my 2004 GS.

As per Opie oil I filled her with 15-50 oil, on checking the GS workshop manual I have for the bike it says 20-50 oil.

Totally puzzled of North Yorkshire

So what if I used 10-40 which is what my wifes 535 Virago uses - bear in mind it is changed every 4 - 5000 miles with a fresh filter.

So what if I used 10-40 which is what my wifes 535 Virago uses - bear in mind it is changed every 4 - 5000 miles with a fresh filter.

My manual says x/40 shouldn't be used above 20 deg C so no problem in winter. You should be using x/50 at the moment. The x bit wont matter; 5,10, 15 or 20.
