Hi All,
Need some advise pls. I'm based in the UAE and the BMW garage is not really up to speed with what oils to use on bikes etc.
I've recently bought a R1200GS and have started to do the oil changes (every 3000km) myself. According to the GS handbook the best oil for high tempratures (40 degrees plus) is SAE 15W-40. I've managed to get BMW High Power Oil SAE 15W-40, but the instructions on the oil says Multigrade HD engine oil for gasoline and diesel engines . The guys at BMW told me it should be OK, but I don't realy trust them. Since I've used this oil there seems to be a rattling sound from my valves. Can anyone explain this?
Are there any other grade oils that will be ok in high tempratures or is this 15w-40 ok?
Thanks
