OK, I should know better FD oil query.

Just bought a gallon of oil for the FD on my 1150GS, this is GL5 spec. 75/90, I also have a Yamaha XJ900S Diversion, the spec. for this is GL4 90.

I'm thinking that I can't use the GL5 in the Yam, What's your thoughts???????? Being a cheapskate I would like to use the same oil in both bikes.

GL 5 "attacks" any phospher bronze parts.

If the yam hasn't any in the FD, no worries.

Since found a downloadable owners manual.GL4 gl5, & gl6 can all e used. I didn't know there was a GL6................................not that I've ever looked.
