I'm going to have a go at making a fancy leather guitar strap for a friend.
Has anyone got an old or damaged one I could have for a template?

You could probably just buy the cheapest Chinese shite strap off Amazon and use that, they’re all pretty similar as they’re adjustable for a range of length
For an acoustic guitar, some have strap buttons screwed into the body at the front, others just use a lace from the front strap eye tied to the headstock, but either way it’s the same strap
Ask your friend maybe if they want plectrum pockets for example if you think it could be an idea
