Old I phone 6SE

Morning all
I have just upgraded to a new iPhone, but still have my old iPhone 6SE with the setup on my bike with the quad lock and charger.
For all you guys that use an old phone on your bike - do you need a sim in the alternative phone for it to run google maps / MRA route app/ ?
I don’t need any calls etc on it.

You can hotspot off your new phone if you wish.

Or you can download offline maps.

Or get a cheap sim like an honest mobile smart sim.

Or a combination of all them

No, and if you did you can always hot spot it to your new phone.

I have a sacrificial iPhone, which I use for navigation. It has no SIM card in it. Do though be sure to:

Download the maps you need.

Download the routes you need.

If you do need to update any of your downloads, connect your phone to WiFi.

I’ll try down loading some maps
Something I’ve not done before - as I’ve always used data in the uk and Europe.
I’ll also look into a honest sim .

Data usage is pretty low when navigating.
