I have decided i am going to buy myself a F650 GS but here is my question....

I have the money to buy new, not sure whether to buy new and add bits as i get the money or buy second hand and be able to put all the bits on now that i want. But i have found myself a 2002 model for £2995 . The bike is in good condition with 10,000 miles and a full BMW pannier system with full liners, heated grips, non abs. So the question is bascially are there any problems with the older model bikes?? And what do people think i should do??

P.S I am desperate to get myself a bike and dont want to wait 2 months to get a new one from BMW

New or old F650!

I suppose a new bike will be 'old' in a few months!! a second hand one will not depreciate as much either and should be ready for whatever! :D I have had a couple of older Funduro F650s and have had no problems other than wearing out the odd tyre and maybe a fork seal on the older bike! What difference is there between 02/52 and 06 model GS, probably not that much other than nearly twice the price!!

I couldn't decide either so I decided to get the best of both worlds and got a 3 month old demonstrator - lots of warranty left, but not quite as expensive as a new one.

I'd go for the used one, that sounds a good price with that mileage and panniers aswell!
On the other hand, with the F800 coming out you may find that prices of the 650's will drop and people may be trading in 650's for the new 800's.
