Old vs New... MCN’s latest video review

Testing it to the limit! Fantastic, I'm really impressed. Maybe I've misjudged it, it is obviously mega off road, as fast as fook, man did you see those lean angles, i reckon they've fitted super sticky track tyres:bow:bow:bow

Awesome:clap:clap:clap

Taking the lead from another post, the old bikes headlight is deffo brighter than the new LED looking at the vid. But it does look good off, far more modern.

Also having the two bikes nose to nose, the WC is certainly shorter with both on centre stands. On the road appears to be less in it, but the out going model does appear taller in the front.

I do like the new computer info screen with more info readily available compared with having to scroll through various screens on the current GSA.

The new clocks are deffo improvement on the mk 2 1200's, who's dials where far too fussy, more in line now with original 1200's simpler dials.

Think you need to watch that again for the head light comparison !!! The twin cam has the dip beam on, the WC only has the DRL on..

And its dipped main beam that comes on automatically when you start the out going model and the dipped main beam is certainly brighter than the LED in the vid, and I was commenting on the vid. I can't comment on something that wasn't there.

as posted elsewhere you toilet owners are really sensitive.

I'm not being sensitive, the TC has its dip beam on, the WC only has the DRL no dip beam! You are comparing apples and pears.

And a very nice one too!

Funny thing is the article claims to be comparing the LC to a 2012 model whereas my old TC is 2010 - think they picked it because it was red.

You're probably right. I'd hate to think of the chaps at MCN having to compare two bikes if they were different colours as well, their brains would implode.

I think I mis-heard but I'm sure at one point, one of them says the new bike is "about the same weight" and "produces about the same power" !!!

At least they were on a good piece of road!!

I heard that too, not sure what they'd been drinking at the Admiral Wells in Holme but that bloke Bruce couldn't put together a coherent sentence.

Will be riding that road at the weekend - have to go up to Baldy's sometime. to buy some more stuff and have a coffee.

Hasn't the new bike, even though it is more of the same, dated the old bike instantly ?!! Much the same way the Hexheads dated the 1150's. :augie

May see you there, in at 10:30, 1st service. :thumb2

Paging Mr Flyflip and Mr BMW Boxer to the Operations Room...:shout

I'm not going to argue that point, I agree with it. The hexhead dated the previous models, the new one dates the outgoing 1200, but as an example, the Ferrari f40 is still classed as one of the finest cars ever made. The new one may be technologically superior, faster, newer looking etc, but the f40 will be remembered when the new one has disappeared into the back of the playboys garage :thumb

jeeez scary,,,,,,, they nearly put a whole sentence together,,,,

I am glad we can make up our own mind.....
