For those that may think that Guy Martin has turned into a 'TV Lovey'...Get between the Farm Bends exit and the Start/Finish line. He wrings it's neck like you would not believe, just scimming the grass bank....The fact that you are hanging over the fence, just a few feet away from him, bumps up the excitement levels....

Should be a great meeting if they all turn up.....Hope the sun shines......:)

Scarbrough Men

Natives of Whitby call people from Scarborough, Algerinos, the origin of this nickname comes from the sinking of a boat called 'The Algerino' not far from Scarborough. The lifeboat crews of several neighbouring towns, (Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, etc.), responded while the Scarborough lifeboat did not, and so as a constant reminder they are referred to as 'Algerinos' and Scarborough 'Algerinoland'.:beerjug:

They came in their thousands to watch. All the lads on the poster raced (apart from an injured Guy) and we got wet!

Olivers Mount Photos

Hi

A bit late but I finally got round to uploading some photos.

Awesome event if you have never seen road racing. NW200 was a bit wet but Olivers Mount was only damp but it was stunning.

The sheer commitment and balls to go that speed past trees with a bale being the only safety feature and you are literally within touching distance should be experienced. Also good value: £40 for 2 days with 21 races.

This the top of The Esses: Ryan F pursued by Michael Dunlop and that was about as close as he got.

Three photos of differing styles: a smooth Ryan F followed by a committed William Dunlop

Here we have a slightly airbourne Martin Childs of Bike magazine fame at Jefferies Jump.

They even have side cars!

This what happens when things go wrong. According to the marshalls Andrew Cuthbert slid off at the top of Drury Hairpin. He remounted and sped off down the hill towards Mountside Hairpin where at about 100mph as he grabbed the front brake it fell off having been damaged earlier - they found the lever half down the hill. Fortunately for him instead of trees there was a slip road followed by two hawthorn hedges. He apparently finished up with bruising. Scary view of the front wheel:eek: It used to be a 400 Kawasaki ZXR.

If you get the chance I wouold recomend road racing.
