OK, OK, I know people are getting hacked off of photies of biking in the sunshine on lovely roads, but this will be the last one for a while, promise
After JayC commented on the Clue d'Aiglun the other day, thought I'd get up and scoot over there as I hadn't done that lovely little run since the GSA was a few days old, which was in December 2003. So..

Trip Time: 3:06:49
Stopped Time: 47:41
Distance: 179.55 km
Average: 57.67 km/h
Fastest Speed: 117.06 km/h
Ascent: 3263 metres
Descent: 3260 metres
Didn't bother taking even more photos of St Cezaire, St Vallier, Col de Bleine etc as you'd seen them before, so....after descending the Col de Bleine, turned right onto the D10, heading for Le Mas and Aiglun. Lots of little rocks all over the road, and a bit gravelly in places, so steady does it.
After a wee while, arrived at Le Mas with it's 12th Century church for those who like that sort of thing
Eventually, I got to the bend in the road which goes into the Clue d'Aiglun with Aiglun itself up on the other side of the valley
Entrance to the clue seems really small on this photo. The scale of the thing is amazing.
Through a couple of small, dark, wet, rock-strewn tunnels, and this is the road on the other side of the very high bridge.
Don't see many trucks on this road
Looking back down towards the bridge
Kept along the road until the turnoff at Roquestron-Grasse, pictured here
Road climbs up out of the valley, past Consegudes, stop for a quick drink.
From there, carried on along the lovely little D1 towards Bouyon, used to cycle with the kids here, as it's flat, has no traffic, and spectacular views.
Further on the D1, looking north.
Just as you start heading up the slight rise to Bouyon, there's a great view of the Alps behind you
Further up, looking back down onto Bouyon, nice view if I say so myself...
Then cut back across the D8 towards Greolieres, this is the village of Coursegoules, which never looks that colourful...
Further on, you can see the village of Greolieres up in the distance
Further down the D2 heading towards Greolieres
Greolieres village
Further up the D2 heading towards Greolieres-les-Neiges. This is the road where they filmed a chase scene in Ronin, and Pierce Brosnin raced some woman in a Ferrari at the start of one of the bond films.
Looking the other way, that's a massive drop on the left too.....ulp. Careful when getting off the bike to take pics, though I'm sure some of you will be wishing "fall off ya smug fecker" ha ha
Older readers may remember I took a pic of the same bike here 8 years ago
But I didn't take one facing up the hill
Lovely road though, and I can't believe it's the first time back here for so long. Used to do this run regularly.
Just before St Vallier on the D5, you get a good view down onto the Route Napoleon.
On the Route de St Cezaire, about 5 minutes from home, this is a lovely wee road down one side of a deep gorge then up again. Never usually stop this close to home to take a photo, but what the hell
So, hope you've enjoyed it. I'll be having a rest for a while now, so if ye start missing photos of the sunshine, come over yerselves....
