After 40 years of riding, poor health means I have to stop and sell my beloved bikes. This is my blue & white 1150GS, bought new by me on 24 December 2002 at L&C Tunbridge Wells for £8k. It is the non-ABS version.

The bike only has 26,056 miles, and with a full service history (Main Dealer and Specialist). The handbook and service books come with the bike. I have just spent £802 on a full / recommissioning service and MoT at CMC (Clay Cross), so nothing really to do to the bike. This includes a new battery and new brake pads all round.

The bike is fitted with black engine bars, heated grips, braided brake hoses, Remus Y piece and silencer, extended screen, Migsel auxiliary light bar (no lights mounted, but wiring prep done), blue Adventure wheels , BMW pannier rails, Hepco & Becker topbox fitting.

The bike will also come with:
  • Standard screen, cat and silencer
  • Hepco & Becker top box
  • 1 x BMW pannier (I bought a pair second hand, but the other one was damaged)
  • Set of original / standard wheels (with tyres)
  • Set of R1100 wheels and BT023 tyres ( 120/70 ZR17 & 170/60 ZR17 - for the super moto effect!), with speedo drive
  • Aluminium panniers (bought from Att, some years ago) with fitting kit, for long adventures.
  • Oxford lined cover
  • English Chain security lock and padlock
  • Gemi chip (never fitted)
This will be a wonderful bike for somebody - it's very hard to let it go.

Asking £2,800 for everything here, just need to find it a new home.

I'm based in Chesterfield S41. Please do PM me if I can help with any queries, or you would like to view the bike (and / or my Aprilia Tuono Factory, which also has to go).

Many thanks!

PS - having trouble uploading photos, so please bear with me.

Very interested in this as my 1250 has just gone, and looking for something a little more analogue. DM sent

Sounds like an utter bargain - Should be gone before tea time.
Thanks - trying to be fair on the price, and package in all the accessories (there's also an Optimate with it). It hurts me to see it in the garage - needs to be enjoyed by a new caring owner.

All set and sorted, John is an absolute gent.

Had always wanted one in these colours - Used to ride in Spain not long after stepping up from 50cc with a group of expats on a mix of bikes from my old Thundercat, a Blackbird, Daytona 995i ect. and a chap called Rob who rode with the group on one of these GS's, in these colours.

When one of the locals would come flying past in their full Dainese on an R1/CBR ect. his party trick was tucking in behind, bolt upright and relaxed as you like, and just sticking with them to the top of the pass making it look easy. (and leaving the rest of us behind in the process!). It was only after when you'd walk into his place and see the wall of trophies that it made sense, but ever since this had always been a "one day" bike.

Agreed, Ive bought his aprillia, collecting tmrw, what a great guy, my first naked motorbike (y)

I'm so pleased that my bikes are going to the right owners. I've been on this site for years (my membership lapsed last year, so had to rejoin), it's really one of the best. Thanks to everybody who expressed an interest , and especially to Gryph and Justin - I'm experiencing 'bike bereavement' this week, but I'm confident that the guys will enjoy and care for the bikes as I have.

How the flipping flaps have I missed this??? Good luck to the new owner and heart to enjoy it.

Sold to Ben, who has just ridden off back to Cardiff. Safe miles Ben - enjoy the new journeys!
