i need to keep warm this winter an wondered if anyone has found a really good lined one piece suit that they use? i dont want to spend fortunes but do want to keep warm and dry. any other ideas about muffs or overboot also appricated. :beerjug:

Ride magazine did a comparison test of all the one piece suits (and some two piece) a few months back if you can get a copy.

Get a regular waterproof suit that you can wear in the summer too. Personally I prefer a 2 piece as getting my bulk into a 1 piece is a PITA.

To keep warm wear extra layers underneath. If you are wearing leathers then a cheap fleece will provide a decent thermal layer between the leathers & waterproofs.

Invest in decent quality thermal underwear too: cheaper than specialist bike gear and useful for other purposes too.

I've got the Ride reviews on my freespace http://freespace.virgin.net/d.wesson/oversuit/

Does anyone remember the one piece silver Rukka oversuits? What a superb piece of kit they were. Unfortunately I don't think you can get them anymore.

Nelson Rigg has a good name ( I have a two piece, very well made, just an oversuit really) & my fave Belstaff Trialsmaster take some beating...

:rob arh yes mr chatsworth :bow that exactly what i had in mind , one of those lovely rubbery lined rukka one piece jobs that everyone whore 20 years ago :bounce1 . i thinks those areostich are well out of my price range. im looking ar sub :thumb £100

I have a two piece Hein Gericke Taureg suit which let some water in at the elbows coming home over the moors when it was bouncing down.

When I got home I remembered I have a Spidi water proof oversuit from when I had the Ginetta Roadster... it's one hell of a squeeze to get over the suit, but I haven't felt the need to use it yet. It did however keep me warm in the roadster, but that did have a body and an aero deflector screen instead of the windscreen.

I think you need somekind of armour under it, but it should keep the wind out and be reasonably draft free if pulled in tight.

I've just purchased a buffalo mountain shirt which you wear on it's own, not even with a t-shirt. I intend to try it under my Taureg suit, to see if it's better than the standard thermal liner... the buffalo is also pretty well waterproof.

yes i already have a spada two piece(circut jacket and podium trousers in the post) but think i may need more as sidecar dave has booked us in for the dragon rally  and id rather be :spitfire than :(
